A while ago I was driving a gravel road on a big station when I saw a pheasant present itself. Stopped the truck and dropped it with the .308.

Out of the corner of my eye I glimpsed a black shape streak across the road behind me. I swivelled and with the rifle tucked against my hip Hollywood style I led it a gnats co*k and pulled the trigger. The black cat reached the far side of the road in two pieces. Never managed a shot like that before or since. Was a big bloody cat too. Manuka country. Heaps of small birds and skinks to feed on Sad Sad

Three ferrets in three nights Micky, with only being baited on the first night. Last two nights no bait. Must be the few drops of blood left after some prick putting a slug gun in the box and pulling the trigger when the ferret sniffed the end of the barrel.
