Yep Ive got a crf-y for the close stuff But I had to get a Swaro for the longer stuff
Are the brass ones solid brass and I guess lathe turned? If so much longer for weight than a copper jacketed lead core so would make sense.
I reckon a few of us would like to see a photo of a line up of both the projectiles and the loaded rounds if you could post one.
Interesting!
Edit: spelling
Yep the Brass ones are solid turned projectiles from 51 to 55 mm long. One day I will figure out how to post pictures & when I have got it going properly I will do a thread on it. Currently I have discovered my fancy brake is most likely a fancy piece of stainless scrap expensive scrap at that. But more testing tomorrow will confirm that before I email the maker in the States, I have a different one coming with some more projectiles so hope fully that will sort it. The recoil is quite savage without the brake
I probably shouldent ask but did you get alot of change out of 5k
Your right you shouldn't
No change & would have cost a lot more if I hadn't made the stock
I think it's quite cheap for what it is able to achieve. @ 14 kilo's it's not a carry around rifle, but I didn't make it to be one. If you can shoot 1500 plus you probably don't need to carry it too far
Suggest you print it out to refer to while loading them. If you need any help with photos from here on feel free to ask!
Maybe you should talk to Robbie Tiffen about that muzzle brake, also if Nelson Collie of Invercargill area is still around talk to him. he used to build .50 BMG cal rifles and they would have had a brake.

Walker, Yes I considered the 6mmBRX but the gunsmith thought it probably wouldn't feed that great from a magazine. I figured if it all turns to shit and the standard 6BR won't feed I'll just fit a benchrest follower & then go BRX for an extra 100fps.
Long range rifles. Why run you'll only die tired.

I thought it was a mirror of the case but slightly longer in the case body but shorter neck so same OAL and diameter in fact you can neck size and bump the shoulder back with the same die....or that is as I read the articles

Actually I was asking about the range finder. I know well myself how much the rifle would have cost I have been down that road myself with the 7mm.
Till I master the 7mm out too 1200 I don't see how I could afford the next step up. I figure with 2 target rifles and the 7mm that’s enough custom rifles for now I also have 3 rem 700 in 243, 260, 308 this completely fills my cabinet. I'd guess your set up dug in at 1500 would be worth 1/2 of all mine put together.
For that reason alone I truly wish you every success with that big rig.
What soft ware are you using to crunch the numbers? I purchased Precision Shooters Workbench over the net and I must say it bloody good. Awesome back up the numbers work.

the Swaro's are approx $2300 ish, there is one on Trademe for less at the moment. I have Exbal for the PDA but I mainly use JBM at home
I also have Exbal at home. Although the differences between Exbal and Precision shooting are small let me know if you feel you are off, at say 1200 onwards as there are some reasonable differences out at that range and you may well be better off to change.
Precision seems to get it right more the time all of the time (Put bluntly spot on no question).
With my target rifles I could never get Exbal to calculate exactly for the ranges 300, 500, 600, 800, 900, 1000 there was always a .5 moa difference so I regularly lost 1 of my sighters since I change over the problem has disappeared.

No your quite Right Leathel....I asked Harvey Westland the same thing. He said that he always found the improved variations of the BR case caused feeding issues on the Remington...I didn't bother asking why as he's built more than enough to know.

I'd take that with a grain of salt. Suspect its more to do with having to spend money on a reamer, after all a remmy will chamber a 243 win thats nearly half inch longer!
Just do it
