I was shooting 162gr Amax's for years in my 708 with great results using adi ar2208 powder before switching to 162gr eld-m's.
I started slightly lower (.5gr) than my go to amax load & worked up in .1gr until i found the sweet spot. Ended up .5gr hotter than amax with 60fps faster mv & averaging .5moa 3 shot groups.
The 162gr Eld-m's higher bc is a game changer in the 7mm08 cal for both long range targets & hunting.
Hope this helps  Smiley

Thanks for your info, out of interest how do you do your group testing of .1gr changes , 3 shot of each weight then clean and let barrel cool down or what’s best practise cheers

Yes thats it. 3 shots prone from sand bags. I start the testing with clean barrel but don't worry about cleaning it during session as my rifle poi doesn't change.  I do cool barrel in between groups.
I take my time & always enjoy my trigger time. This method works well for me.
Wishing you well  Smiley
