Hi Baz. I am based in Invercargill. When you get down this way give me a call and I might be able to take you out for a trip or two. Dave

Good Man DH,

Make sure you get Baz onto a fish in the Brightwater...

Hi Mate.
I was lucky enough to fish it on Saturday last week.
I fished around Dickeys Flat and then the Franklin road end area upwards.
Water was LOW and fishing was HARD.

There are a couple of decent fish there though.
PM me if you like and ill tell you exactly where they are holding.... Wink

Also seen the biggest eel I have ever seen in the wild.... and Ive seen a few...

Hey Fellas, well, trip was pretty much as you guys have mentioned as far as the fishing goes.. lucky the track and scenery made up for it! The river looks amazing, and like it should hold heaps of fish.. who knows, maybe it does! I saw half a doz fish over the 2 days, most bar one small to medium sized, and one looked like a slab. It was just cruising a big pool and I couldnít get near it. Would love to see it in Jan Feb and see if warmer temps get the moving/rising those pools would be great to fish dries on. I wonder if the fish are able to move around or up and down from the Ohinemuri and thatís limited their numbers? But even though the fishing was ordinary I still had a great trip and would do it again another time. DOC hut was great and scenery top notch. Gotta plan another one now...!
