Gidday hunters,

I have finally bitten the bullet and are flying into Golden Hills but in the middle of June.

Any advice as I have never hunted tops before and where to go in June. What direction to go etc

Cheers

Warm sunny faces, top of guts, out of the wind, find a high point and glass extensively - havenít hunted that particular block but have hunted the Airstrip block on the southern border of Golden Hills a couple of times. Itíll be pretty cold. But thereís definitely plenty of animals. Make sure you can shoot longer distances accurately - canít comment on bush hunting possibilities there. Hopefully someone else might chime in - had a friend whoís taken a really good 8 out of there - went 186 - now sits pride of Place in his lounge - it was sitting on a clay pan out of the wind in the sun middle of the day - good luck.

Cheers Radar,

Yes I have brought a reasonable pair of binos and trying to hatch a plan, was hoping to pick someones greymatter who had been there and would know what areas were better.

4 of us going in, was thinking of taking the dog but she hates the cold and when sitting glassing it would be hard to get her to stay still.

The new Golden Hills hut is very cosy

Typical hunting terrain near the hut
