Any one heading to the USA to hunt this year?

Iím looking at applying for Colorado elk, Wyoming pronghorn and Idaho deer. If I draw my tags Iíll be there for all of October hunting.  Happy to help anyone looking at the USA ballots, they are pretty complicated but you can get some tags without too much drama in Colorado, Idaho and Montana.

I'm planning a Sept Elk bowhunt in ID for the whole of the month if necessary. I'm thinking of buying a cheap truck rather than hiring one. Do you have any info on doing that? Might not be feasible.

Recently I have hired vehicles when I hunt over there.† But a long time ago (25 years) I did buy a car and it was easy.† Iíd guess itís still easy but just takes time.† I use carrentals.com. You should be able to get a decent ute for around $US1200 for a month.

Also if you are looking at an OTC elk tag you should enter the draw and you might get luck and draw a great tag. If you donít draw you can just buy OTC.

Yes, I'm going to try to draw a good tag. Applications open on May 1 for ID but also returned tags are available on April 9. A few low chance options there.

Good luck with the draw. Iíll be applying for long shot elk, deer and bear tags.  You probably know but there is a second draw for controlled tags in Aug.

Mule deer. At this stage planning to fly into the frank church wilderness for a week. Will have a few tags - deer, bear, lion and wolf.
