Anyone have any experiences on 308 bullets that will work (penetrate and expand) ok from around 1800 to 1600fps on red deer?

Just curious more than anything.

Thanks in advance

most folk seem to be into a 165ish hornady Amax or the modern equivilent
old school it would be a speer spbt to get expansion.
read terminal ballistic research...Nathan goes into it with a lot of detail as to what works and why at what speed.

Thanks mate, just purchased and read the book.

Found a Sierra bullet that will fit the bill.

Long Range Hunting Cartridges Second Edition... Awesome book Smiley
