The active membership is much smaller now. And with so many different sections is actually hard to find anyone posting anything.
its like wandering around on an empty passenger liner. There are too many rooms. It's like two moose trying to find each other during mating season in Fiordland.
I propose that the forum be downsized to a more intimate level and much less sections; similar to the way it was in 2005.
I would say to take it back to a Hunting section, Small Game section, a Firearms section, and a Campfire section.
One of the effects is that people just dont post in some areas because they dont think anyone is going to see it. People are still posting in the Campfire section becaue its now the largest traffic arrea, but because its the campefire section they dont post anything about hunting and shooting, so the forum has become self limiting.
We dont have the active membership for the rest anymore. Its a very small fire with too much wood on it so it cant burn properly.
Reduce it again and it will grow.

That would credit me with being craftier than I am. No just being practical. The issues section is the correct section. But no one ever looks in it except (I guess) for moderators.

just had a wee look in reloading back pages..there are 480ish pages BUT alot of early posts are doubled up...so using up a heck of a lot of space for no gain.... deleting double ups will take an age to do...but could be worth the effort to speed everything else back up,maybe????
