Im aware of 357mag loads with 158 and 180g projectiles for hunting. I have some data with these weights. Id like to hear of proven loads that you are happy with for reference. Thanks

20.5gr of Winchester 296 under a 125gr JHP for about 2100fps from a 20 inch barrel. Have used that load for about 30 years. Never bothered with the heavier slugs.

Hornady XTP factory loads work the best I could find. The XTP is a cracker.

As it's in a strong lever action in 'theory' you can run acouple of grains over max loads as all the data was established for revolvers in the early 60's.  Use rifle primers as well. The 158xtp goes really well when horsed up a bit.

Just do it
