Howdy team
As title says after a straylining setup.
Fairly new to it and Will be using mostly offshore Taranaki, what can people recommend?
Mono or braid?
What size gear?
At this stage was leaning towards a thunnus setup...maybe the 8000 on a carbolite.
Cheers for any help..Bob

If you are going to be fishing in deeper water over 30 metres I would be inclined to spool with braid. If shallow I use 15 kg mono.
You could consider getting a spare spool which gives you the option of changing depending on the type of fishing you are doing.
Anyway, one rod and reel is not enough.
You will need a softbait set, jigging set, topwater...... Grin
