DOC or the department of conservation are employed by us, the tax paying NZ'ers to look after our public lands. It is not DOC land it is our land. Public land. That being said, I and many others I know of regularly hunt our public land with a bow. Most of our wild game animals live on our public lands. cheers and good hunting.

yea mate, i mostly hunt doc estate. getting to know an area well is the secret, finding where the animals hang out and how to hunt it in any wind and weather condition will certainly help

Might be wrong but I thought there are dedicated bow hunting DOC reserves which would make it a bit easier? CLICK

I would very much it JaSa but you are correct on that land mainly due the people checking out the falls. I would be very surprised if there were many others
