Have a trip planed up to the marlborough sounds next month (annual lads fishing trip) each year we get thing better and better fishing wise but we still struggle to nail the gurnard , usually get a few while fishing for other things but don't have a lot of luck when targeting them, any tips on
- rigs
- bait
- burley
- depths
- what to look for on the sounder
- spots if you want to share (completely understand if not)
would be really appreciated

Thanks in advance

heaps of info on google,

I like japanese longline hooks, ledger type rigs plus one trace below the sinker, fresh Kahawhai seems to do well in some areas.
