Hey Guys , planning a trip to fish the upper Wanganui via Turanagi . Just wondering if anyone could help with access to the river itself from Kapoors Rd and the condition of the road ? Cheers for any help .

Did the route you wish to follow at Xmas. Once you hit the turnoff on the Eastern side of the the 4wd main drag its quads or two wheelers only. Its been a ripper season for blackberry, and unless you carry a set of pruners you will get cut to shreds (don't ask:)). River was looking pretty healthy.

There was a lot of slime on rocks in Whakapapa at Owhango and below confluence at Mahoe rd 4 weeks ago

Keep your nymphs up off the bottom if fishing that style.
Terrestrials should be all go no tho anyway.
