Carbon Barrels

What’s the crack with carbon barrels?

Do they have a barrel life similar to standard barrels?
Can you sensibly put a standard moderator on them?
Are they affected any different relative to a standard barrel during a string of successive shots in short sequence?

Cheers

Better name is a carbon wrapped barrel. Normal steel barrel turn down slimmer than normal and then wrapped in carbon as carbon is lighter than steel. Shot strings are as normal and suppressor or brake are fitted as normal only difference is they are usually a bull barrel

The main differences are weight and cost, and they look really good (the Proof ones anyway).

Kiwi Greg does lots of carbon wrapped barrel builds and may be able to offer his opinion.

G'Day Fella's,

Henry Straker, the sales pitch for them, goes like this;
"You get the stiffness of a Heavy Weight barrel, with the weight of a Sporter Barrel " or words to that effect.

Proof Research> https://www.proofresearch.com/ do this properly, most others, do it another way.
Is there any difference, between the brands and versions?
Good question, and I'm not qualified to give an opinion on this ..........yet.

Hope that helps

D'oh!
