Hi there, my mate has just imported a kimber super light 280AI & wants me to load for it.
Who out there has experience with loading this cal & which projectiles, powder, brass etc is preferred?
I dont need to know actual loads as I'm going to start low & work my way up, just want an idea of which brands of components are preferred or recommended.
I plan to use around 160gr pills & will prob start with 162gr eld-x & ar2217 or 2209 powder?.
My mate intends to use this rifle for hunting tahr & reds longish range dialing out to 500-600y.
280AI experience answers only please.
Cheers

I am using the ELD X & M out of mine, 162's all the way, was using the Amax prior to the ELD's.

I use 2213SC in mine, it sits between the two powders you have selected to try.  59gns gets it to the mid 2900's velocity, 24" barrel.

Started with Nosler brass when it first became available, don't believe it is any better than the cheaper Norma that I am using now.

That's prob coz the Nosler brass is made by Norma.

My load is a 150 LRAB at 3130. Would be so close to 162s at mid 2900s that it wouldn't matter under 600yds.
