I don't know about the 6.5x55 but Belmont ammo is well made from good quality components ,and I haven't heard many genuine complaints .

I bought a packet of 7mm08 several years ago - kicked like a mule and sprayed like a Tom Cat. The cases were ex military 7.62 resized, to say I wasnít impressed is subtle.
Thatís why I reload.

Goodness , that should require turning the neck to thin it down, the 7mm08  and the 260 cases are fractionally longer than the 308/7.62 . That is a genuine complaint and should have been referred back to the retailer .
If you dont want to reload , contact Custom Cartridges in Taupo ,You send your rifle to  Mark and he can reload for your firearm and your needs as to projectile etc .He keeps the data on file and can repeat the load when you need more

The shame of it is that I bought them at the Sika Show, 3 years ago.

Tim, as Flintlock suggested find someone who is a good reloader through a hunting or shooting club that can teach you how itís done properly. Iíve learnt heaps in this ongoing journey.
Iíve got both my 7mm and .223 shooting better on homeloads than factory ammo....just saying

I also have used Belmont in 308. It shot well for one rifle and shit for another. While shooting the Finwolf in with Belmont the grouping was poor to average, used some
cor-lokt,s in the same rifle and it shot well.

Time to stick up for the chaps at Belmont
IF you were doing a batch of reloads for yourself would you pick a load out of manual a couple of grains below maximum, full length resize down to minimum specs and seat projectile at shortest length load up a hundy of them at once and expect them to be tack drivers?????? no of course you wouldnt...they MIGHT be but they could just as easy be crap.
if you have a factory load that shoots great in your rifle and you do above method EXCEPT you use the factory load to set up seating depth....you can expect slightly better results as the bullet jump will be similar.... use same projectile at same depth and same velocity and you are getting closer.....
it seems passingly strange that guys who only use factory loads will try all sorts to find one the rifle likes yet expect Belmont to be smack on right from the getgo.at end of the day it only another factory load not a custom tuned load.

Interesting Mickey - Belmont bought a full set of auto cartridge loading machines from one of the big producers in the states - iíd Expect better to be fair. Iíve even tried different ammo in the bang stick and Belmont by far was the worst performance - but thatís only with me and only with my rifle as you say. Horses for courses I suppose Smiley

Just to show that I am not picking on Belmont MD, I have also used the Lapua that they used to put together some years ago and it was great.

More than happy with that
