'Press Release From NZ Outdoors Party

Recreational Fisherman don't welcome the re-emergence of TOP

The newly emerged TOP Party under the leadership of Geoff Simmons will cause many ripples in the sea of recreational fisherman because of his past extremist views on recreational fishing.
Geoff Simmons along with Gareth Morgan have advocated that recreational fisherman should have to purchase Quota from the Commercial fishing industry to allow them to go out and catch a feed of snapper or Kahawai.
Their past attacks on anyone trying to effect change for recreational fishing have been quite acrimonious including calling the ideas of the fisherman's Lobby group 'Legasea' as "Mugabe-like".
Alan Simmons (no relation) Co-leader of the NZ Outdoors Party commented "We thought we were well rid of TOP and their leaders radical ideas. Anglers need to be aware of their extreme views". said Alan.
The NZ Outdoors Party fully support all the efforts 'Legasea' undertake preserving the right of New Zealanders to enjoy fishing to feed their families.

End
Alan Simmons. President NZ Outdoors Party.

Any link to TOP's policy on this? Seems an odd approach indeed

That's the Morgan Foundation - what was TOP's policy?
