Tikka T3 modifications - bolt fluted and Mountain Tactical 5 rd magazine

After a bit of thought and a recent birthday I've invested in some modifications for my T3.

BOLT FLUTING by Gunworks

Truth dart.....I had the bolt fluted for cosmetic reasons only. I think it looks pretty slick, works for me.

Usual awesome customer service from Robbie and the team. Really high standard of workmanship as well.

MOUNTAIN TACTICAL 5 ROUND ALUMINIUM MAGAZINE

I purchased a 5 round magazine from Mountain Tactical out of Montana after I decided that I couldn't bring myself to pay around $170 for a plastic one here in NZ. I was able to get on on the pre-order so mine was a tad cheaper than listed on their site...I'll put the link to the site below.

I couldn't help myself and feed 30-40 rounds through it and it feed flawlessly.

So, if you're looking for a replacement, back up magazine or anything Tikka related they are well worth a look. Great customer service....nothings a problem.

I have one of their T3 Picatinny rails, which I like. Great fit, and small stub on the bottom that fits into the recess on the top of the action to locate it perfectly and take some recoil stress off the screws.

I had my bolt fluted by Long Rifles Inc in South Dakota for US$45 when I was living in the US.

Awesome.. looks good.  Have thought about doing my bolt for cosmetic reasons, but have not got around to it.

I got the Mountain Tactical / Tikka performance bottom metal for mine.. great service.

Here's the link to the initial post.

Long story short....it hydrodipped (water transfer printed) and sealed. I've had plenty of days in the hills and it still looks brand new. My stock cost $113 returned....

Flick Paul an e-mail or Facebook PM and go from there....really easy to deal with, great service.

Cheers,

Mitch
