New cooker

Hey guys
In the market for a new cooker
Have a cheap gas burner at the moment but have been looking at a jet boil type unit

Has anyone had any experience with the firemaple x2
Look to be a copy of the jet boil at about a third of the price?

Cheers

Love my jetboil! Mate has a torpedo 7 one dunno what its called but its abit cheaper than a jetboil and seems to be just as good as mine just a tad bulkier. So might be worth a look on there site. Hope this helps 👍

I have a primus that was quite a bit cheaper than the Jet boil equivalent and it goes really well. A mate has a fire marple that seems to do the trick but it's very noisey.

Ive got a firemaple x2. Last trip we had a jetboil and firemaple x2, no difference in them. I liked that the firemaple came with attachment for frying pan, fry pan attachment for jetboil another $40

Never used a jetboil type system and sort of struggle with why they are so popular given the size and weight.
I use one of these in the above link.  25gms, costs under $20 and so small but works really well.  My whole cooking system fits into a 800ml pot so about half the size of a jetboil.

Got a Primus Eta Lite that works well.  Half the price of MSR and does the job at a lighter weight.

Had a jetboil. Now have the Torpedo7. T7 is a fraction quicker, but way cheaper, particularly if you wait for a site special. Bulkier because it can sit a 230g gas canister inside it, which can also be dirt cheap from T7.

Tho, mostly using a small Macpac burmer tri-stand and a kettle from the Wharehouse. Similar to possum_shooter ?. Easily half the weight of the Jetboil system.

Use the T7 compact system when I want to save pack volume.

If you do go this way I have brought from this place in the past and was ok ( was a slightly better exchange rate back then) in the UK

I read a similar thread on another forum and these were recommended. I bought 2 (1 for me and 1 for a mate) and they have been great so far. Worked out much cheaper than what was offer locally.  https://www.aliexpress.com/item/APG-900ml-camping-gas-stove-fires-cooking-System...
