Kia ora all,

Got a young pup I'm training for deer/goats and hes at the age where if I want to I can get him neutered.

Just looking for opinions on the whole procedure and how it affected your dog , mentally?

Cheers

7 months. Leaning heavily towards leaving him sexed until he's at least 1 or 2. Just  not sure how much their personality changes if they get de sexed young or not.

Is there a particular reason why you are thinking of getting him neutered? In my experience the dog's temperament and good training and socialisation  make more of a difference.

Im a believer in letting dogs fully mature before de sexing. Nature made them to grow the way they are, not modified by humans. I would do it once the dog is fully grown and matured in size so it canít affect his growth patterns.

I had just been told it was a good idea for his future health by the vet I use. Have since spoken to other vets and they all had different personal opinions.
