Not bad!
Can you run 40gr of AR2209 in a 20" barrel 1/8 twist thru QLoad and tell me what velocity it spits out, please? Hornady brass, 143gr ELD-X, Federal LR primer.

Found that 42gr gives me a sticky bolt with ejector stamps on the brass. Everything else other then 40gr is not better so I rather stick with a slow but accurate load for now.

Do you still want this run through Quickload?
I'll need your OAL and for best results the fired case capacity of water in grains.

Quickload gives a speed of 2493 FPS for a 20" barrel and 40Gr of 2209. Pressure equals 51728 PSI.
For your interest 42Gr of 2209 speed is 2614 FPS and pressure is 59873 PSI.
I find seems to underestimate speed from short barrels so you maybe going a little faster.

Thanks for that !
I have a DPT on as well so that will give me a bit more speed also.

The animals don't often complain about the speed of the projectile, if it's accurate...  just sayin..

I find a light rifle, and high velocity don't make often make your hunting rifle great to shoot..

there is always plenty of time for procrastination.

Just came back from the farm where I was shooting the load mentioned above at 100, 200, 300 and 400m and writting down the true bullet drops. Played around with the JBM calculator and to match the results to the true bullet drop values, I had to adjust the speed to 2480 ft/s. Means Quickload is pretty f***ing close !!

At 850m I have to come up someting like 9.7 MIL and since my G2 reticle has a 10 MIL scale, I don't even have to dial  Wink
