The fishing season closes 30th June though unsure of the Harkness area? Should be defined on your fishing license?
Can't recall seeing any trout in the multiple crossings going to Tussock hut but the Ngaruroro river there were some good rainbows.

Yip nice fishing downstream from harkness hut when you hit the main stream 5-10min walk, could be upstream as well with a bit more flow for this time of year, heaps of eels as well if thats your thing. heaps of glassing to do up the valley so binos are a must, check out the sunny faces Smiley
