Hey all, recently my lowa rangers got attacked by a hungry dog so am in the market for some new boots. Now the rangers were secondhand off my father and they were going strong for years and years so I would like to get more lowas and I was wondering if anyone has used the Tibet gtx and how you rate it? Cheers all and happy hunting

I have a pair of tibet GTX  boots and find them  pretty good. The lace lock half way up is a nice feature. Foot bed is really hard and probably needs an insole fitted. Standard one doesn't do a lot. Nice to have a good pair of waterproof boots, my last ones were miendl desert fox boots which I would buy again for north island bush stalking, not waterproof but dried quickly. The tibets are fairly heavy and if they do get wet they take a couple of days to dry out.
End of the day they are a good solid boot, great for south island/tops hunting.

I've got Tibet GTX and agree with Rumpy's comments. If you not doing tops hunting they probably overkill and I would stick to Rangers

I have a pair of the Tibets and also the Lowa Caminos, both boots need after market innersoles as mentioned above. The Tibets are awesome in the rough going and carrying a heavy load. I find the Caminos hold my foot more secure than the Rangers as they have an extra set of lace holes closer to the toe.Caminos a great boot when not loaded up with 20+ kgs and on easier going terrain.
