Ultra warm and pack down well.
Heaps of pockets.  Minimally waterproof and a good hood.

Yup highly recommend for the long hours sitting an glassing, cuts out the chill factor from the wind, and the hood stops the wind goin down ur neck and chillin ur back. Packs down very well, I use a cram bag for sleeping bag lol  Smiley

I swear by the macpac uberlight.  It's lighter (but not quite as warm) as their other puff jackets but I think it's enough for me.  It has a hood which is important and only weights 400g.  It would tear in nasty bush and won't survive the rain but for glassing, wearing around camp or in bed it can't be beaten.

I think you are better off with the tramping brands for this stuff rather than the hunting brands.  The tramping stuff is better made and the hunting stuff is heavier, more expensive and all you get is a camo pattern.

Anyone who owns one of these.

Have you ever had any want for a draw chord in the hem? Or has it not been an issue?

I found a tailor who can modify the elasticated hem to make it more fitting for sealing in heat. Problem solved  Smiley

Have one. Love it.
Has a longer cut over the bum so it helps to keep bits warm.

Hood is good.  Dont think about dont too much activity in them as they don't breath.

Sprayed mine with a good DWR so water just beads off it.

Had a marmot down jacket that did pack down smaller, but the water resistance of the thermolite is way better.

Macpac will fix it for minimal costs.  Otherwise get some of that tape used to fix holes in tents.
