4WD hire
May 13th, 2018 at 2:19am

Hi everyone,
I live in Western Australia and travel to NZ SI most years for the duck season mainly around the Otago area. I am looking at getting back into deer hunting and was wondering if anyone knows where I can hire say a 4WD ute for a week or two not looking for a town taxi but something that works and is reliable to go off the main roads.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Len

Cross Country Rentals (CCR) used to be the go-to place for 4wd and light commercials. Don't know if they even exist anymore but have a Google, they were a national outfit.

I know Hertz have/had 4x4 Ford Rangers as my brother usually gets one for work when in the South Island.

Just read the agreement carefully re insurance etc.  I know areas like 90 Mile beach aren't covered by their policy.  Asking for additional 4x4 cover might be an interesting chat.

Cheers, Dan

When Overland rentals closed down and the owner moved to Aussie, we lost a good buggar fellow hunter and fly fisherman for 4x4 rentals. Tony was the man.

As Lovett notes above - check out the "what-if" scenarios very carefully with all responses in writing. They have lots of exclusions by implication that are tricky to identify.
They might not come with self-recovery gear (either manual or electric winches) unless you ask.
