Got 12 in Eketahuna between 2 off a farm pond heaps of ducks around but flying to high another fine day for opening morning but still a great day.
Looking forward to rest of season still have a few ponds and a big dam to shoot heaps of jump shooting opportunities around just need weather to play its part.

Opening day, 6 (as above)

Sunday 13th of May - 3. NOTHING before about 10am (missed a shot at dawn..), then three for three between 10am and 10:30.

All in all, a soggy, good, frustrating, slow morning....

Steady as she goes hunting. For 4 full days and 2 half days in the field I've had 3 limits, a 5 bird haul and a donut.

For sure Mallardbuster. Certainly nice to hear others being out and about when you're not able to get out yourself.

Cheers guys

Worse season Eva. we lost our place to shoot on as worker left farm and was going to shoot somewhere on the kaipara for a few hours then go fishing as forecast didn't suit duck shooting but then the starter motor died the night before opening so missed opening day! 2nd time in 49 yrs.  Sad
