Hi Guys,

I had a neat trip into the Kaimanawas last week. Great fun and a neat trip with a few deer thrown in.

Cheers.

The base of my meat safe hunting days during the 80's to mid 90's. Though mainly reds back then. Sika being lower in the valley.
And the site of two heli crashes - ask Bob Pittaway & Stratts.  Smiley

Bob Pittaway is a well known name  and a good bloke in this neck of the woods.

Enjoyed the trip back into the Kaimanawa, many decades since I hunted  Japs.  Smiley
Regarding Bob Pittaway, good bloke, in my opinion. He was an experienced man on the Fallow, back when I bought an immaculate long wheelbase Landrover Safari diesel from him 40 odd years ago in Wanganui.

Get as close as you can, then get a bit closer.

He wrote a book or 3.      "Fallow hunting in NZ",  "The Lure of the hills"  and "Pigs at my Doorstep"
