Just forwarding a notice I found on Facebook:

Sarah Henderson‎ at Hunting and Fishing Buy Sell Swap NZ (Facebook group)

******$1000 REWARD!!!*******
Hi guys and gals, a family friend has been having some trouble with poachers on their land in Otago, there is 8 game cameras set up all over the block to see what animals were around during the rut and one of the guys is on 7 of them. He had also been past one camera 8 days in a row, shooting young stags and only taking heads, leaving meat to rot. So dangerous for the hunters that were actually allowed to be there and had shots going off around them, one was confronted and ran off. Here are some photos of the 2 guys, one guy has a young kid with him and a black dog. The landowner is willing to offer $1000 reward to anyone who can identify them. Please private message with names. Thanks!

Awesome... and can get game cameras as cheap as $80 now.... gonna put some up on our place.... they really need to hit these blokes as hard as possible, preferably in the pocket as well, the harder they do that the less it will happen. A bit like that program Border Control, $400 fine for bringing suitcases of food into NZ, no wonder they dont care... i mean they had enough money to travel internationally, so $400 just like a built in cost... imagine if the fine was $4000, just like poaching, instant $5k fine, would stop a lot of it overnight.

It's not a skillful art, it's illegal, dangerous and disrespectful to the land owner. I don't agree with glorifying what these scumbags get up to.

I don't think it's sad at all, I'm pleased they got caught, hope the book gets thrown at them.

Ever thought of becoming an 18th century English Judge, or a member of the landed gentry?   Grin

Camo gear didn’t seem to help the people above !!! I think it’s great these scum ( and that’s what they are) we’re caught ! There is no excuse for entering someone else’s land to hunt , and even more so in NZ where there is so much access to public hunting areas !!

alcohol doesn't agree with me , but i sure do enjoy the argument!

Once stopped 4 blokes in a beat up 4 door Toyota shooting off a well used road onto fenced farmland. There was a gun barrel sticking out of every window. It was 1 pm. Had a bit of a chat with them. Friendly one.. They said they thought they were on doc land. They all had on full cammo gear, the works  Roll Eyes

Theres some interesting people out there.
