went for a wee fish today

I woke up this morning and decided to go fishing. Loaded up the truck  canoe, motor, battery and all fishing gear. I drove an hour north bought bait and headed to cedar lake for rainbows. Its april 26 season does not open in the City of Kawartha lakes until Sat. So I went to another Zone where the season is year round. Pulled up and the lake was ice, no open water. Turned around and came home. No fishing. Our turkey season opened yesterday, guess thats what I should have done. Cheers guys have a great day.

We have a truckshop visit our village on Fridays, whilst waiting for the fishmounger to set up I had a chat to a guy from America, he was born in, "north of Turkey" who had a delicious young wife born "south of Turkey". A delightfull couple.
When my turn came I bought two very good sized flounder, fresh caught, and filleted them. Then cooked one fillet in batter along with some chips and a buttered roll.
But my electric winch on a beach trolley is already, my kite is ready, I am ready, alas the wind is blowing backwards and is not steady.

That's fishing for you I guess - I flick a fly from a jetty and haven't caught a fish since Xmas.
Have tried every fly in my box and have even taken down the spinner, but zilch - not even a 'take', yet the other night there were fish flopping all over the surface.

Maybe tonight ...............

Oh - I don't want to spoil it and actually catch one - can't stand touching the damn things nor do I like eating them.

I was just feeling left out .................
