Passed away last week. Hunter, instructor at Dip Flat and Senior Environmental Ranger for North West Nelson Forest Park amongst other things.  A humble, unassuming man with a huge wealth of knowledge.
Rest in peace Harry

And who's that guy in the swanni next to him - rings a bell.

And I'm almost tempted to say so does Harry - I trapped down there for a good few years.

RIP.

Cheers TH, name rings a bell too - just can't put it all together.

My wife wonders if I'm getting dementia because a bloke called around about a month ago - and I couldn't remember him.
I supposedly hadn't seen him in forty years and thought I was being taken for a ride until he fished out some old photos and there was me.

Told my sister about it and she told me I always had a 'lazy' memory ??

Hell! another 'blast from the past', I bought my first model 100 Winchester from Frank Leckie over 55  years ago.

Bob died in a heli accident Nov 1980 in the Arawata Valley while on the job. I worked with his son Bob Norton jnr in the airforce who started as a fireman then qualified as a C-130 loadmaster. Bob jnr use to dispatch me out of the Herc during para sorties. I was also assisting with NZFS on some WARO compliance matters for the Turangi office at the time - 1985?

Yep - first operator taken to court by the NZFS (Dave Lumley)- Taupo, i gave my evidence, Judge reserved his decision then came back with a fine to the pilot. Second one was dealt with directly with removal of concession for Kaimanawa's. Didn't need video crap, no fancy phone pics - your word and the odd blurry photo was good enough on the day.

I remember Ian Logan and Andy Leigh in the office in Palmerston North when culling the N.W. & S.W. Ruahines, in the early 70's and my Field Officer was Chris Coe.
