I took my wildly undersized kayak out to the local lake yesterday and caught wildly undersized fish. Great success.

If you can round up some bigger examples they taste great. skin them first and then fillet. They are truly a top table fish

Good video gimp, enjoyed it--What drone did you use for the aerials?
The Kayak looks useful and probably better than a float-tube. Whats it like in the wind?
Cheers.

First fresh water fish I ever caught was a 3lb perch and that's still the biggest I've seen.   Fed Mum Dad my sister and me.
Beautiful table fish and hard fight too.
Pretty stoked as a 4yr old and one of my earliest memories.

neat looking place for a paddle. a method that has worked well for us in the past is to tie a small fly about 60 cm up from lure....shorter if casting... looks like lure is small fish chasing something else.... seem to catch about 50% on fly . have also caught perch with a brightly coloured nymph or glo bug and just dangled it and bounced it around edge of weed beds.

I caught 3 good sized perch in the Ashburton lakes last month during the day on a black woolly bug while trying for trout

Using a DJI Spark for aerial shots

The kayak is ok in the wind but it's not the ideal model, this one was a bit of a rushed buy. Love the portability though so am shopping for a bigger/more stable/better model now

Thanks for the info gimp--looking at an inflatable canoe myself. So what model do you have now and what are you upgrading to.
Cheers.
