If you could buy any scope, what would it be?

Hi All,
have you ever thought about the scope you could buy, if money, wives, children, mortgages, reason, justification, were not a consideration?
Just curious, if you have one scope that you would pick to own, if you could just pop out to the local, click away on the internet, or whatever.

As I don't have to pay, as its a one item wish list, I think I might like to own a IOR RECON 4-28X50 FFP CCW MRAD Illuminated. I think its the bonkers 40mm main tube and uber glass. It may not be the most expensive (although its not cheap), but it would do me.

What would yours be?

I would buy a 34 inch scope from Rigby:

Size matters.... Wink

Rant aside - It could be a collectors item some day.

Thinking hunting for everything I do.... Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 would tick every box at roughly $1600. I know alot more expensive scopes with more whistles and bells out there but for me a simple clear and reliable scope is what I look for even I had a huge budget ...Anything better in my hands prob be wasted technology!

And that's the only reason I don't drive a Bentley.

G'Day Fella's,

Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
I contacted Marc N at Rigby, about this.
Marc thanks me/us for notifying him about this.
He told me that it should read 34mm, and that he would get his people to rectify this error asap.

Doh!

well it would be fixed magnification...low power 2.5 up to maybe 4 something like a kahles or another leupold. being a bush hobbit at heart a big top end magnification is wasted as I dont shoot past 400yards...seldom past 200yards.

With optics more expensive doesnt get you more technology, it gives you better optics. You put a Bushnell alongside a Swaro and there is no comparison. Probably even more important for bush hunting in low light conditions.

If money was no object I'd probably buy something really heavy and expensive to sit in my drawer because I already have two very good scopes for my hunting, a 2 3/4x fixed Hensoldt and a 3x Prominar.
Both good scopes in their day and both still nice and clear despite some dings and blue loss.

I actually don't know if there's anything out there in today's market that could replace them.

And I will second that - because my BIL bought one of them fifty odd years ago and had it on every rifle he owned.
Some ten years back I got to look after his stuff after he didn't renew his license and I finally deigned to look through the cheap piece of shit.
That glass was as good as any I'd ever looked through - absolutely blew me away.
Eventually he sold the gun it was on and the bloke who bought it replaced the scope with something else, so I asked if he'd be interested in selling the scope to me.

"Nah mate, sits on the window sill and I use it to look up the paddock to see if anything's out".
"How about I swap you some bino's".

"Can you tenderize a steak with them ?"
