Poolburn / Upper Manor Burn/Lake Onslow

Hey guy’s,

Looking at taking the kids up to either of the three lakes mentioned above this weekend. Ideally we would like to camp at one of the Lakes but not sure if your allowed to do this?

Pool burn looks to be all private land up to the lake edge, same with Lake Onslow but Upper Manorburn has a marginal strip. Anyone know the deal with camping in these spots?

Alternatively does anyone know anyone that rents out any of the huts at these spots? Thanks in advance Wink

You will have no problem finding a good camping area on any of these lakes, done it many times. With this hot spell the cicada should be flying so tight lines and enjoy☺

Cheers for the reply woolybugger. Thought i should give you an update on our adventure.....

Ended up having a look at Upper Manorburn but wasn't keen launching the bigger boat near the damn wall with the southerly breeze and no other adults with me to help out. Should have brought the smaller dinghy so went back to Poolburn (having been there before).

One of the kids ended up loosing a nice brownie right next to the boat after a mishap with the reel resulted in a major tangle whilst trying to get it in the net Cry  Still we found a nice sheltered spot and enjoyed a night camping and the kids caught there first Koura in our hinaki which was cool.

Lake was bloody low compared to last time we were there a few weeks back - lots of slightly submerged rocks to watch out for!
