Hunter from overseas travelling through the country

Hi

Iīm an 18 years old hunter from Germany.
I have been hunting since the age of 13 and I am hooked on it.

On September I am going to start studying forestry with a focus on hunting management at the University of Munich in Germany. Beside of that, I am very interested in other hunting cultures which is also a reason for I would love to team up with a kiwi hunter to get to know the New Zealand way of hunting.

If you need a helping hand in any kind of work I am on your side. I am a ticketed welder and I gained a big knowledge in construction by growing up in my parentsī metalworking company.

The big game species at home mainly are wild pigs and roe deer as it would be my dream to go for my first hunt on red deer in New Zealand.

At the moment I am around Taupo and I am going to travel to Wellington and through the southern island in the next few months.

Regards Bastian.

If you ever come back up to the Waikato, I will take you out for a deer hunt but antlers are probably still soft to be honest. Better chances in about 4-6 weeks time.
Alternative there are heaps of goats, turkeys and hares on the menu...

I still donīt know when I am going to go back to the north. Probably it will be at the end of May but I will keep you in mind and contact you when I come back to your area.

Thank you so much for your offers. In Germany, it would take weeks to find somebody who takes you out for a hunt.

Regards,
Bastian

That's okay. In May, stags will still have their antlers and will be feeding up for winter which offers another opportunity to shoot a nice one.

Hi,
I'm sad that I still haven't had the possibility yet to realize my dream to get my first stag after I had a bad timing for the first hunter and didn't hear anything from another one for days when plans got concrete.  Undecided
But I still would love to get out for hunt even if I only can accompany someone with my binoculars.
In a few days, I am going to head to Christchurch from  Dunedin via Alexandra but it's no problem for me to go big distances if someone really keeps his word.

Cheers,
Bastian
