Hardy rifles service 😡

Print Post
Just having a bit of a vent and I donít know if anyone else has had trouble with them but took my rifle too H&F to get a half co*k done on the bolt (that gets sent to Hardy rifles). Was told 3 weeks and was happy with that, but 2 and a half mouths later and many phone call to Hardyís Iím not impressed. To top it off they sent it back without the bolt and the case I sent it down in. Was just talking to two of my mates that had also sent rifles too them, one will never deal with them again because he had problems with a rifle they built and they didnít want to know him, the other sent his in mid November and still hasnít got it back.

It is much better to Hit the Animal in the right place, with a Rifle you can shoot well, then to hit it poorly with a Large Calibre..John Nosler

Iíve always found them good, last rifle was back within 7days, hunting and fishing are a different matter entirely though, unfortunately thereís not a lot of choice in New Plymouth

what is a Tikka half co*k like? Is it decent like a Mauser or not so much?
I have seen a half co*k mod done on a Rem 700 and thought it was hardly any better than the almost non existent original.

If it takes only one careless match to start a bush fire, how come it takes me a whole box to start a camp fire.

I like it, itís been the best thing Iíve had done too it and especially since I shoot over my dog. Itís really firm and I find it really safe. I want to get the same done to my other rifle but wonít be sending it back to Hardyís. I guy thinks heís bigger than the game.

Don't fuk around with half-co*k on a T3, just get a second saftey hole drilled into the bolt, turns a shit bush rifle into a great bush rifle.

And as for the bad service from HRE, no surprise  Roll Eyes just a pitty you had to learn the hard way what most people in NZ already know  Embarrassed

Shoot it, root it & BBQ it !!!

The old half co*k safety method is a bit of NZ history really. To my knowledge harks back to the deer culler days in the 60s when many rifles such as the Sakos of the day had great half co*k's.
Hunters found it quicker and safer to carry rifles that way and it's still alive today in NZ. It was even in the arms code but I don't know if it still is.

In the US, UK and even Australia, they have no idea what you are on about if you say you carry your rifle in a half co*k position.

Just bought a barrel off Dan. Super quick and friendly. Maybe it was because of my good looks. No complaint. Wink

I hope you got one of the good ones because they aren't all well made and they won't want to know you if you got a dud.

Truflite would be a much better bet if you want NZ made. Bartlein, Kreiger, Hart, Benchmark, Brux or any other premium US barrels if not and you want to spend more.
