Hey guys long story short my black Labrador Bruce was sent to find a possibly hit deer (pretty sure it wasn’t hit) but wanted to make sure). He got a scent of something and bolted several hundred yards and wouldn’t come back to a whistle which is highly unusual. I haven’t seen him since 7am despite looking all day. I’m staying the night and will look again tomorrow.

If anyone is heading in there please keep an eye out or if you can pick him up and call me on 021 946 955.

Have left messages in the hut book and spoken to three other sets of hunters but no luck yet....

No not yet...... Hired an R22 from Wanaka Helicopters this morning (bloody awesome guys at short notice) and flew up there and had a good look around but no sign of him.

Have spoken to the owners of Cluden and Lauder Stations and the fencing contractors working on one of them and given them all the details.

Going to try and get a few mates together and go for another good look in the vehicles and on foot this coming weekend.

We found him!  Wink

Bit of a mission getting the trucks into the block due to the first day of decent rain for a while and he initially bolted from my mate on his motor bike but we got in there and he turned up at my campsite where i parked the truck.

Huge thanks to my mate Carl who travelled up from Gore, Scott who came over from Queenstown and Graeme and Sonya from Vitesse Labradors in Christchurch who all travelled here to help find him - bloody fantastic group of people Wink

Good out come.

Shows how useful a reliable stop command can be.
