Ear tagged chamois in canterbury foot hills

Evening,
A fella was telling me about seeing a chamois with eartags in the canterbury foothills. He didnt shoot it but took some pics instead.
Anyone know what the story is with it?

Cheers

No but I've heard about it, someone reckoned they had seen it twice, can you post a photo up as I was a bit sceptical  Undecided if it hangs around there for long someone will shoot it.

We once had a lost yearling chamois that hung out with in a mob sheep one year, managed to bring him right into the yards with the rest of the sheep, could’ve tagged him right there and see if we ever heard about it again

I saw that chamois yesterday. It was feeding within 20m of us. Wasn't too concerned. The tags had 14 down one side and a number, the other tag had 16 down the side and a number. Horns were nothing spectacular. We didn't shoot it.

Cool, did you get a photo? Glad to hear it hasn't been shot.

Only got photos on my phone, and are very blurry. I left my main camera sitting on the back seat of the truck.
