Anyone using this ammo? How have you found it? Looking at using it for medium range out to 400 max and wondering how consistent people have found it?
pretty simple really
Cheers

I use it in my 16inch barrel 7m08 and find it awesome killing out to 400. I mainly bush hunt with it but have shot it at 400.

Cheers for the help. I picked up a box sighted in and shot a couple of goats. Certainly knocked them over. Next step will be some grouping and work out a drop chart to see if they really suit the rifle

I have used them to take 4 deer(150,gr. 308win ) and results were excellant.....range was relatively close in 70 to 150 yards.   My rifle shoots them approx 1 MOA

I have used Hornady American Whitetail in both .25-06 and .243 and had no problems with accuracy.

We used to use Superformance SSTís, but most of our shots are shortish range, and too many deer got up and ran off. Changed to a conventional soft nose bullet and they stopped getting up.

Not sure why Hackmeat had problems with the .243, because we certainly havenít. My 15 year old son can put 3 shots into a 30mm bullseye at 100m off a bench rest at the range with them - any amount accurate enough for shooting deer with, and a bit smaller than the inside of a barn.

my 243 likes very little jump to the lands , one of my hand loads is the same load as the whitetail just a bit longer oal . gives 25mmish groups vs 60mm for the factory .

so to put that into perspective...... if you used the horribly inaccurate hornady stuff in your EBRG you would have to limit yourself to shoulder shots and not shoot any deer more than 300 yards away..... Grin Grin Grin
