Hunting in South Africa

A few years ago, 2011 I met a couple of guys in a pub who were on a springbok tour watching the world cup games.  They were a bit sick of sitting on a bus and drinking piss but had their hands tied.  After a bit of to and froing I asked what they would like to do if they had a day off.  THey wanted to go for a hunt so I picked them up the next day at lunchtime, did a bit of a tour of the CNI and took them for a pighunt.  They both got a good pig each and we had a bloody good afternoon.  They made me promise to go to South Africa over a few beers that night but I never thought I would go.  I filmed the hunt and edited that night and dropped them off a copy the next morning.... anyway fast forward a few years and Jen and I decided to pack up the kids and go and visit Jan and Harry + Adriaan and James who were another couple of SA hunters I had hosted.

Here is a bit of a video of Jen shooting an impala in Natal... there is a lot video coming.

Cheers, Hairy

I liked where  the guide went to give a hand to drag the impala before realising Mr's Hairy is as strong as most blokes and didn't need any help.

Still out here in the wind and rain, look a little older but I feel no pain...

She is a bit funny like that, she wasn't going to shoot anything but when she decided to she wanted to do it all herself, respecting the animal. Including carrying it back to the chiller in 35 degree heat. Our s.a mates were confused a bit about kiwi women...  Grin Grin

The good side of hunters right there.
A bit of hospitality repaid with one of life's adventures.
Awesome.
