Hornady Precision Hunter ELD-X Ammunition

Is anyone using this ammo and able to provide feedback on how it has performed?

I'm looking at seeing if my 7mm08 likes shooting it as I like the idea of the 150gr ELD-X round.

Has anyone put rounds through a chronograph to see how far off their claimed velocity they actually were going etc?

Cheers.

I'm using the eldx 6.5 creedmoor precision hunter ammo. Goes really well and I'm struggling to do reloads to better it's performance to be honest. I'm running a short barrell  so my speeds are down on what hornady says. Works good on the deer.

That's what I'm using, my rifle loves it, deer not so much, groups extremely well. I'm shooting 3/4 inch or better at 100m.
No harm in trying it through your rifle, find out what it's like for you.

yes i use that exact load in my Tikka 7mm08 - it shoots a 3 shot 1.25 inch group at 200m. So you could say it does the job  Cheesy

My brother uses the factory loads in his 300wsm.Speeds down 50fps through chrono but that's through a 20 inch tube.Shot a deer at 340y couple of days ago, recovered the pill and perfect mushroom.
I use the 178 pills in my handloads and performs perfectly.

Managed to get out this morning for a shoot. The picture below is two 3 shot groups from my 7mm08 at 100 yards. Group on the left is what i'm currently using which is Winchester Deer Season XP. Group on the right is the Hornady Precision Hunter. Pretty bloody happy with that.

Just a follow up for anyone interested. Put 5 rounds through a chronograph today out of my tikka with 20” barrel and dpt suppresor. The average was 2700 fps so pretty happy.

Anyone know how they work at different ranges/speeds?  .270 WIN.

.270 WIN   AWESOME SINCE 1925       "REMEMBER THE 6 P's" POOR PREPARATION PROVIDES PISS POOR PERFORMANCE
