Hope i'm in the right section!!
Got this brain wave of kayaking some easy south island rivers - like the Arawhata. I have a sit on kayak designed for sea fishing - being tight - I'm hoping this would be safe not only on this river but others? your experience would be most appreciated.

sometimes i sits & thinks, & sometimes i just sits. never miss a good chance to shut-up

A bit to have a look at.

I would guess you would fly in with a helicopter, sit on paddle boat underneath the machine ? Heli guys should know how far up to drop you off and you will be able to see from the machine where it starts to get knarly.

Google "Goat jet boating West Coast" for a few more bits on other rivers.
