Hi all, I'm looking to get my 10 month old bitch sorted and am based in the Waikato. I believe Pete Evans is the only one doing it here? After reading some comments about making sure I got with the right 'setup' especially with a soft breed, can anyone recommend him? Cheers

Wish I could help mate. The forum and the dog section particularly are pretty dead lately.

Hi guys I ended up doing this through Pete in the Waikato. Was straight forward, all done pretty quickly. I was a little concerned about the shock collar (no vibration option) on my 11 month vizsla bitch but it hasn't affected her confidence in any way that I can tell on game birds. I can recommend Pete.
Cheers

Lat reply but I recently did Kiwi aversion training through Rimutuka Forest Park Trust.

My dogs a golden retriever / Vizsla so has always been keen on birds.

She responded quickly to the Kiwi aversion. The corrections were very low and didn't create any training scars. The aversion in this case is specific to Kiwis and she still shows interest in other birds so I wouldn't let it put you off if your targeting ducks and pheasants etc.

Willie Marsh all the way. He reads each dog beautifully and only applies the level of pressure needed. He is a dog man through and through. That makes a huge difference. His focus is on averting from kiwi without taking away the dogs confidence in itself or its handler. His course is also well set up to simulate actual field situations. Real nice fella too.
