Just a few photos of a small part of the damage along state highway 38 from Murupara to Wairoa. Digger is a couple corners from Okui turn off. Major major damage after Te Whaiti turn off from what i have heard and other photos i have seen.

a few nice streams and rivers have had a good clean out a will provide some lovely hunting next spring  Lips Sealed Lips Sealed  Kiss

My hunting mate filmed the damage to the road when flying out of Ruatahuna. The slip just out Te Whaiti is going to take a bit of work to sort out

Great photos Dave. Central helicopters will be rubbing their hands together.

I have just been told that the road from Murupara to Ruatahuna is now open, personally I think that its a load of bollocks.

I am told that you can gain access to Minginui from Murupara and that might be correct as they can go through the pines, but thats it, you cant go any further from there. You still need to pass over the large slip just north of Te Whaiti.

Apparantly I will hear all about later this evening and I do look forward to that cause they are full of shit  Tongue

I know they have punched a hole though the slips as far as okahu valley rd 2 days ago as far as been open i think its more just for the locals to get in and out and the odd rubber neckers.

Well my mate managed to get his ute out of Ruatahuna over the weekend. He went on the High Level road and then through the pines to Minganui and then through to Ruatahuna from Te Whaiti.

It would seem that there has been sufficient work done to get through the big slip north of Te Whaiti and from there on the road wasnt all that bad apart from a lot of single lane driving.
