It was in pretty good nic on Monday mate. Nothing that i would think would of let go. Some big long puddles have developed on the mid flat section of thd waipunga. Very active log trucks at the plateau end.

Road is closed... And will get worse on Thursday by the looks. The road into minganui is also closed due to damage as well. So the whirinaki is pretty much closed unless you drive through the pines. Bare in mind that if you have no permit you have no insurance.

Sounds like the only way in and out of minginui is via the pines. Surely they would be a bit understanding given the circumstances

I talked to them yesterday... its difficult because the office ladies are not really in control of the security and logging contractors and health and safety laws... its pretty frustrating to be honest.

No access through forest unless yo hold a contractor permit. The permits issued for hunting can be purchased but hunting is closed. Looks like the animals get free rain for this year.

It was OK a month ago. They were logging at the SH5 end so the road was in good order
