Good stuff Tony ..... Love those early morning, golden light, reflective shots of the Marshies. As you know, I can relate to the joy and excitement of actually finding them let alone finally getting some good images of them.

Well done. Always interesting seeing rare bird pics.
Driving myself nuts here on Stewy Is, trying to get shots of the Long tailed cuckoo which has newly turned up.
They seam to be able to throw there voice/call which makes em very hard to see.

Its the nut behind the butt, that counts.

yes longtails are great at throwing their voice .
Often I think its like a stags roar, they can sound far away when they roar facing away from you, next minute they are right on your doorstep.
longtails are the sika deer of the bird world.

Ha!! The Karate Coot Grin Brilliant!

The Digital era must have been a seminal moment for people who strive to capture these creatures in such exquisite detail. Great work:)

Up to your usual high standard Tony-excellent pics.
Birds are brilliant---most of the ones I've been ogling at have been on the Gizzy beaches this summer.
Some with hardly any plumage on at all.
Cheers.

thanks man , yep Im very pleased .
already this year has started off with a hiss and a roar with sightings of birds never seen here in NZ before.
Sad thing is I cant do the photography and hunt as well.
I have a freezer full of veni  but I miss my hunting.
but you simply cant give 100% to both.
