Reached the limit with the GS Customs tonight.

26.4gr - 3476fps
26.7gr - 3522fps (blown primer).

They are healthy velocities. You would be had pushed to get a 223 to equal that in a 60gr round. Shows how going up in bore size can produce the speed.
Be interested how RL7 goes with 75-80gr.

I'm not sure if RL7 will work with the jacketed bullets. Maybe a bit fast. I specially chose it for use with the GSC bullets which sometimes need a faster burning powder.

I'll try a few 70gr blitzkings with it though to compare with Xterminator.

Yes the banded bullets do slip down that tube easy. The 69gr I tried didn't reach max load using H335 on the limited testing I did.

Not too bad now that you ask. Shot at 200m on Saturday in the pouring rain.

62gr GSC - 3 shots 1.7". Zeroed at 200 they're shooting about 1" high at 100m.

105gr Amax - 4 shots into 1.3". 4" low at 200 with roughly 100m zero.

I'm just not getting time to fiddle with loads so that will have to do for the moment. The GS loads were really hot - I think because the cartridges were soaked or the chamber had got resizing lube in it from shooting subsonic rounds that I hadn't cleaned lube off.

Wandered around the little 100 acre forest where I hunt last night but I was dead quiet and only saw a young roe doe (not in season). I think my culling during the winter has been too effective!

You getting your next 6x45 built yet? Be nice to hear how that goes.

Thats good grouping for confident hunting.
Opted to go for 6.5 Grendel on the next Sako build instead. Got most of the bits at hand, just getting the action mag well machined to accept the S491 PPC mag box I acquired and then it will be off to the gunsmith for the rest. 6x45 is still my go to gun at the moment and I've got a few different bullets to try soon, 85gr Sierra HPBT being one.

6.5 Grendel will be a step up from the 6x45. Will your boltface need enlarging? Look forward to hearing how it goes.

Got another young Roe buck last week with the 6x45. At 25m the 62gr GSC broke the neck and exited the haunch - its a heavy hitter for such a little cartridge.

Yes it will need to be opened up, just as Sako did for their factory PPC.

Good result on the Roe. The 6x45 really packs a noticeable punch compared to the 223. I've used both side by side culling goats and it really shows.

Finaly got my new cooper M51, 20" tube, 1-10 twist,  Z5 3x18x44 swarvoski scope, with Balistic turrent.
Put the first few loads threw today, very impressed, 75gr Serria HP, doing 2950fps with 28g CFE.223 in lapua brass, Have three sub 1/2" four shot groups, and 65gr v-max almost as good, with H335 and 3050 fps and 1/2 lower impact point.
Hopefully back yo the range tommorow, and get scope tuned to were I want it, and try get a bit more speed out of the V-max.

How did you get on with further load development? Did you try a bit more CFE223 or were you happy with that load. I'm soon to do some load work with it and 85gr Sierra HPBT.

It is much better to Hit the Animal in the right place, with a Rifle you can shoot well, then to hit it poorly with a Large Calibre..John Nosler

Have taken the 75 g HP up to 29 gr, 28.5 is at 3000 fps, but any faster and accuracy dropped off.
I have good loads worked with cfe223 and the 75 gr, and benchmark or H335 are both giving 3150 with the 65 v-max.
Have 20 rounds loaded up with VV 133, see if I can pick up a bit more speed, if not I get a few 58 gr v-max, the 55 noslers arnt shooting, as well as I had hoped.
Busy with house repaires and work, next days off I will have to go to the city, and pick up brass and 80-85 gr soft point to try,
Have to rework sum brass, as I bumped the shoulder back a bit far,  on the Winchester brass, and started to get light strikes on the primers and the odd dud.
Only have 40 Lapua brass, and they all good,
Love the rifle, it's not fussy, and I am getting consistent 1/2" 4-5 shot groups, with anything in the 65-75 gr weight range I have tried,65 v-max, 65  berger, Seirra hollow points, 60 &75 like the 60 gr but noticeable,  much more wind drift,  that the 65 v-max at 200m.

Good stuff Canadakiwi  Cool It sounds sweeter with every report. See takbok reports that RL7 works really well with the light pills too. Be interested how you get on with those 80-85gr SP.
