good numbers up north of Dargaville. pukekos playing havoc still though, i was beside my shooting dam yesterday and a pukeko flew across the dam with a week old duckling in its mouth, it dropped it halfway across the dam but it was dead, need to get rid of as many as possible next season. Angry

Plenty of squashed mallards on the new expressway south fro Hamilton that's for sure, stopped counting at a dozen once I got south of Cambridge, also saw one hen with about a dozen fluffs with her getting ready to cross, doubt they made it tho the traffic was pretty heavy. Cry

Ducklings seem to be the big winner of all the wet weather we have had over the last few months while paddocks are water logged and full of mud and puddles its been a great breeding season with food aplenty (worms /mosquitos/blood worms etc)just what ducklings need and theres heaps off them everywhere. they grow into adults that s**t out more e coli then dairy cows and its directly into waterways. Youre best to invite hawks etc for a good feed  Smiley

genetic engineer 1 and im all for it Cheesy seriously tho kg For kg ducks crap out (and mostly straight in the waterway) 3 times the nitrates and 12 times the amount of e coli. why would we want a good breeding season for them apart from your own selfish reasons?
