Game cam pics..this years crop of bucks...

Went up to the 40 yesterday to change out the camera cards.  It looks like we have a nice crop of bucks coming on for this fall...

All of those bucks have quite a bit of growing to do before the velvet comes off.... Along with them we got pics of a couple unwanted guests...

I have seen that spotted boar before, the black one in a new comer...only ever get night time pics of them, and one of them has been wallowing in the water hole below the camp.  If they ever start coming to the feeders when I get them running, I may have to do some night hunting to try to get rid of them.

When I changed out the cards I found that one card had pics on it from last fall, and I never had looked at them...some nice bucks were about that I didn't know about..probably just as well I didn't know!

Anyway, now I am really looking forward to our November deer season....  Trail cameras certainly can be an eye opener...

X-Poacher... I'm not that mad at the deer..so I will stay legal, but I do have a good hunting torch that I will use on them hogs if I get a chance.  Hogs are legal day or night here on private land.  Sure like to blast both those hogs!

Nice to see deer.  Where you at?  The hogs a nuisance.  Suit me fine to see them all killed.

Silentelk...We live in Arkansas, about 45 miles NW of Memphis, TN, but our 40 is in the Ozark Mtns. about 100miles west of where we live...

Yeah, the hogs are on the 'shoot on sight' list.  They are a problem in a lot of areas, but they seem to be localized.  So far, we have not had much hog damage, but a friend of mine that has land about 15 miles from our 40 is covered up with them...they trap year around and shoot on sight..the hogs persist!   I don't need the hogs rooting up my food plots...so far I have been lucky...

I am glad to see all the deer using our place, we have done a lot of habitat improvement and that seems to be paying off now.  Of course when the season opens and the shootin' starts those bucks will get scarce....

Great photos. How many tags can you get for deer?

CB14,  We can take six deer statewide depending on the hunting zone.  In the north half of the state the limits vary, we can shoot 4 in the zone where our 40 is, but are limited to 2 bucks with at least three points on one side.  We can kill 2 does during rifle or muzzloader season.  You can kill 4 does in our zone but 2 of them have to be taken with archery tackle to get the total up to 4.

If we filled all our tags my wife and I would have to eat 8 deer!  We are pretty selective in what we shoot and seldom kill more than 4 on our place.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, 8 deer sounds like plenty. I guess that's on top of your Wy tag too.

Definitely some solid deer for Arkansas.  Nice that you take quite a few deer.  lets you manage them a little better if you need to.  there have been times in the past I wish I had an extra tag too
