Dog lost Kaimais $2000 Reward

I lost my German Pinscher, Kaiser, last night around 7pm.
He chased a pig off the track from Wairere, a couple of hundred meters before the old logging roads.
I stayed till dark calling for him, then returned to the falls car park and slept in my car.  I was back up to the spot I lost him a first light, called for him for another hour but the weather and lack of sleep forced me to leave.
I've left my jacket and crossbow at the side of the track where he went in.
As soon as the weather clears I'll be back up there.
He's medium sized (18kg), red/ginger color, he's got a blue rip collar on.  No tracking gear.  He's microchipped and has Hamilton council tags.
He's a very friendly dog.  He's only a part time hunter, spends most of his time curled up on the couch.

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

You've done the best you can for now. Probably when you head back you'll find the dog curled up on your jacket. Either that or sulking in the bushes nearby!
Good luck!!

These things, while worrying, almost always end well. Stay Positive and best wishes.

Were you parked on matamata side and walked over to Tauranga side where logging tracks are?
Keep at it. This rain would've washed away his scent and stuffed up him backtracking. Keep going up there if you can. They always pop up before too long. Putting a sign with your phone number at track entrances on both sides will help.
Also alert the pounds on both sides to keep a lookout for him getting handed in.

Sounds like a good keen dog though  Smiley  If he makes a habit of it maybe invest in some tracking gear.

Nothing yet.
A couple of residents up Whakamarama road though they saw a dog matching his description on Saturday, but nothing has come of it.
I'm still hopeful he'll turn up.

He'll turn up bud. Can take weeks or even months. A mate of mine lost one for 3 weeks. Turned out the dog had found a doc workers camp. The doc worker brought the dog out with him when he finished his contract. It usually ends well.

Nothing yet.
I've spoken with people up Work rd, Tim rd, Esdaile rd, Wright rd, as well as Whakamarama and the Wairere falls area.  Nothing.
I've added his photo to most of the posters I put up. I'll put some on here tomorrow as well.

What do you think are the odds that's he's still in the bush?
If he'd come out he would've showed up at pounds etc.
Reason I ask is I'm thinking about going up there with my dogs on the weekend. I used to hunt up there a lot in the mid 80's. It'd be a good excuse to go back for a look around.
My dogs tend to roam out a bit when they're hunting, and they may pick him up.

Maddoghunter I have no idea what the odds are of him being in there still but I would really appreciate you taking your dogs through the area.
A few hunters I've meet in the Kaimais recently have mentioned there seems to be more pigs about now than in previous years, and my brother and I stumbled within 20m of deer while looking for Kaiser and we weren't exactly quiet.

Here are some photos of Kaiser

I'm taking tomorrow afternoon off work to head back in there, fingers crossed.
