Hunting for Bull Elk in the US is something special. Would recommend it to anyone. Just to hear the Elk bugling was magical. Having a contact in the US would be a big bonus. Much easier to get a bow hunting tag than a rifle tag. Would really like to go back sometime soon for maybe a bigger Bull and/or some other species or maybe just tag along as the cameraman for Simon B’s next overseas venture
Been looking for this report! Glad to see you scored- twice to boot! That is a nice bull. Your friend with the horses is a lifesaver. Elk are big animals and packing meat out is a serious chore. We consider a big elk like that 6 trips to get out. Could be done in 5 heavy packs. In truth, I am most impressed you got on antelope. Usually takes people a few years to get one with a bow. Wyoming has a lot of antelope. Congrats!

Battson - yip he headed down hill a bit, but still got the horses right to the bull.
AJ - Sure was a magical trip. In Wyoming the bow only tags are actually more difficult to get as they allow you to hunt a month earlier than rifle tags.
Silentelk - yeah, the horses were a big part of the trip. Riding to and from the hunting spots was a real adventure for this kiwi I know what you mean about the pronghorn, they were a huge challenge with the bow. A very difficult but rewarding hunt.

Just had another look at your photos CB14. You should be giving yourself a massive pat on the back, really impressive that you picked up a bow the year prior with a goal in mind. Then go out and get it done. Well done

Wow, this is some awesome inspiration. What is the bow season typically in the US? I'm heading over to vegas in July, so I've been thinking of taking the bow along....
